Wisesorb Silica Gel for Flower Drying – Preserve Nature's Beauty
Imagine opening a box months later to find your roses, orchids, or hydrangeas looking just as vivid as the day you picked them. With Wisesorb's fine-crystal silica gel, professional-quality flower preservation is now simple, safe, and repeatable at home or in your studio.
Key Features
- Cobalt-Free Colour Indicator – A blend of 5% orange indicator crystals and 95% white silica gel. Crystals turn dark green when saturated — no guesswork, no harmful cobalt chloride.
- Fine Crystals for Even Drying – Small particles penetrate easily between petals, ensuring uniform moisture absorption while preserving the natural colour and shape of your flowers.
- Oven Reactivatable – Regenerate in an oven at 93–121°C (200–250°F) for 30–120 minutes, or in a microwave on defrost mode for 7–10 minutes. Crystals return to orange when fully reactivated.
- Reusable Over Multiple Cycles – Designed for repeated use. Note that absorption capacity may gradually decrease with each regeneration cycle; replace when performance noticeably declines.
- Individually Airtight Packed – Each 900 g (2 lb) bag is sealed in a resealable zip pouch for optimal freshness and storage.
Suitable For
- Roses, orchids, hydrangeas, daisies, sunflowers
- Gypsophila, forget-me-nots, zinnias, hibiscus, peonies
- Delicate petals, leaves, and mixed floral arrangements
- Craft projects, wedding keepsakes, botanical art
How to Use
- Layer the base – Pour 2–5 cm of crystals into an airtight container.
- Prepare your flowers – Trim stems and remove unwanted leaves. Place flowers upright (or on their side for tall stems).
- Cover completely – Gently pour crystals around and over the flowers until fully submerged with at least 2–3 cm above the highest point.
- Seal and wait – Close the container tightly and store in a cool, dark, dry place for 3–7 days depending on flower size and thickness.
- Remove carefully – Shake off excess crystals and use a soft brush to remove any remaining granules from petals.
- Protect and display – Optionally spray with a matte acrylic varnish to protect against humidity before displaying.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know when the silica gel is saturated?
The orange indicator crystals turn dark green when fully saturated. This is your signal to regenerate or replace the gel.
Is this product safe to use at home?
Yes. Wisesorb flower drying silica gel is cobalt-free, non-toxic, and non-corrosive — safe for home, craft studio, and professional use.
How long does flower drying take?
Typically 3 to 7 days, depending on the size and moisture content of the flowers. Thicker blooms like roses may take longer than delicate petals.
Can I reuse the silica gel after regeneration?
Yes, it is designed for multiple reuse cycles. However, absorption capacity may gradually reduce with each regeneration. Replace when you notice a significant drop in effectiveness.
What container should I use?
Use an airtight container (plastic or glass) large enough to fully submerge your flowers in the crystals.
